Humble Bee Cottage
An open plan lounge and modern kitchen diner, a downstairs double bedroom with wetroom and upstairs one kingsize room and one twin or superkingsize room with a further family bathroom.
Lounge
The rear door enters straight into the open plan lounge where you will find two large sofas and a footstool for relaxing in comfort.
There is also an original 1970's Swing chair which we think you will love if you are 5 or 55. This has been carefully restored and updated, of course, by the fabulous Aunty Anita. There is a large understairs cupboard which has room for coats and shoes along with boxes of toys for children and babies.
We have an entertainment station which includes a large flatscreen television, DVD player, Nintendo Wii for the kids (and adults that want a go at Wii sports!), there are also plenty of books for all ages and a selection of DVDs stored here for your use.
Kitchen & Dining
The galley kitchen is equipped to a very high standard and is located off this open-plan room for a friendly social atmosphere whilst cooking.
Decorated in lime green accents, we love this little galley kitchen with its breakfast bar. There is a large fridge freezer with ice packs and ice cubes made freshly for each stay.
There is an electric oven, grill, ceramic hob and extractor, slimline dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, blender, slow cooker and hopefully every conceivable gadget you would require during your stay to make anything from bread and a cake to warming up and serving a frozen pizza!
Don't forget to check out the Crimple Valley Fresh website for their wonderful boxes which are delivered to the farm on a Friday.
They provide fruit and veg as well as meat and milk etc. Also, Simply Suppers provide meals on request and the information to both of these are sent on booking.
The dining area has a large dining table and chairs to sit 6 people. Right next to the kitchen, it has easy access and aids a sociable atmosphere.
Downstairs Bedroom
This room was originally going to be a single room as the bed can only be accessed from one side (or the bottom) but we decided to put a double bed in for those that don't mind the slightly restrictive access and now the cottage can sleep 6.
We have had no problems with the beds being like this and the only difficulty is when we have to change the sheets - but you needn't worry about that!
Towels and facecloths are provided for each guest and bedding are all freshly laundered prior to your stay.
Wet Room & Loo
Beside the downstairs bedroom you will find a fully-tiled wet room with square shower and even a square toilet! We provide a hand towel on the heated towel rail. (Watch your bum when you lean backwards!)
Double Bedroom Two
Upstairs, this room is fitted with a kingsize bed. Originally, a wrought iron frame, it was just not as comfortable as our other beds from Fred Browns in Knaresborough. So we simply kept the headboard of the wrought iron bed, pushed out the boat and bought another luxury bed base in its place.
There is a hanging rail, a dressing table, table lamps and an alarm clock.
Double Bedroom Three
The largest upstairs bedroom is opposite the bathroom.
It has a gorgeous, comfy, super-king-size bed (or it can be made into two full-size single beds on request).
The bed has a dreamy mattress protector - we get as many comments on our beds as we do the views and fabulous location. This room has a television, digital alarm clock and bedside lamps.
From the window, this room enjoys beautiful views down the pasture. Watching the sunrise from this window has become one of the most mentioned comments from guests staying here.
Family Bathroom
So-called as there are ducks and a few toys for the little ones.
There is a bath with shower over, WC and sink with lighted mirror, shaver point, makeup mirror and a heated towel rail.
The large skylight offers lots of natural light and the clock is to make sure that if you are here for a conference, you get to work on time!
Outside
Well, at the front there is a working farm, of course, but also your parking space and a small yard outside the front door.
At the rear, accessed through the kitchen, is a garden, with outdoor furniture, BBQ and a chiminea. The patio area is secluded and private.
There is a table with six chairs and a picnic table which may be moved if required. The large garden area further on is shared with the other cottage and has plenty of room for games and play. We have garden games available if you would like to borrow these.
Views from here stretch down to our section of the River Nidd where we have the fishing rights - please contact us if you require a permit for this.
