Wow if we could give 20 stars we would. Absolutely amazing campsite. Fantastic friendly atmosphere. The Camp owners are just fantastic and very helpful.
Near to the bus stops. 30 minute scenic walk to The Knox public house who serve amazing food.
We will definitely be back. Also an amazing kitchen shop on site.

Just spent a sneaky weekend away at "The Cud Life" campsite in our motorhome. The facilities are quite simply 5* with every attention to those important little details. Even a pair of GHD|'s to use if needed, to tame wild camping hair!! If you want to stay in a first rate campsite with the most amazing views & the finest Yorkshire welcome, then hurry up be quick & book, because little gems like this don't stay empty for long. We had a tour round "Humblebee Cottage" and were blown away by the quality. In short , "an absolute belter of a find",  but please don't tell too many folk or else we won't be able to book a pitch !!!!!!

Have just returned from a short break on this site and would echo previous positive comments. I feel that the welcoming owners have done very well to develop a clean well run site with sensible rules which don't detract from an old-fashioned camping experience. We went to an adults only site in the summer but found it rather soulless with most campers shut away in their caravans with the tv by 9 pm despite the warm weather. Conversely, the well-spaced arrangement at The Cud Life allows plenty of room and the clear centre with campfire feels inclusive and encourages conversation.

It's hard to build on the praise given to this small, friendly and very welcoming site. Stayed here for the bank holiday weekend and had a great time. Lovely views from the tent, just a five or so minute drive into Harrogate and some great attractions and pubs very nearby (Enjoyed the bank holiday scarecrow festival in Ripley - pretty village, Brimham Rocks and had a great lunch at The Malt Shovel (www. Themaltshovelbrearton.co.uk.  Lots of great touches make this place special, we'll certainly be back.

Some Reviews from Trip Advisor

Outstanding experience from start to finish. Fabulous site and after a very warm welcome we had the best of stays.
Pitch size was excellent and site was immaculate with great facilities, the well stocked shop/cookshop a real bonus.
There is so much to do in the surrounding area and all recommendations from the site proved to be accurate and made for a very enjoyable weekend.
What stands this site apart is the people running it and despite dealing with a family health issue currently, their customer service was still obviously paramount.
A real family effort and one that left a lasting impression, we will be returning shortly and for more nights.
Highly recommend!

Everything was perfect
Loved the size of the campsite and lovely atmosphere and peaceful
Showers fantastic and host are so helpful and welcoming
We have stayed twice now and even though it rained all weekend we still had a fantastic time

Great little site in a perfect location!

Just back from a bank holiday visit. First time at the campsite but sure we'll be back.
Great location just a few minutes from Harrogate with lots of other great places nearby too including Knaresborough, Ripon etc.
Camping field, toilets and showers all perfectly maintained. Lots of space so nobody too cramped in and wonderful views of open countryside.  Visited the on-site shop on Saturday and enjoyed a lovely piece of homemade cake. My daughter said it was the best carrot cake ever!  Hosts were welcoming and friendly too so we'd certainly recommend.

Cud for us all!

We stayed with our trailer tent for 3 nights midweek immediately before August Bank Holiday weekend with EHU (electric hook up). An excellent find and just the kind of campsite we love: small and friendly.
The kitchen/toilet block facilities are excellent and very clean. A shared fridge/freezer was available to everyone and the showers very efficient and powerful. The arrangement of 2 showers and 2 toilets with washbasins all under one roof ensured minimum (if any) waiting times for use. Kitchen washup hot water was plentiful. The onsite cafe and cook-shop (Thursday-Saturday) was well supported by both locals and campers.
We plan on returning. Thanks. Stuart & Sarah

Devour a slice of the Cud Life

The vagaries of an English summer (sweltering hot one day, torrential rain and howling gales the next) could not diminish this little slice of tranquillity that truly is 'the Cud Life'. Everything they say on their website is true. If you want that smaller, independent, friendly approach to a campsite them this is the place for you. Conveniently situated within easy reach of 'civilisation' whilst still retaining the feel of being in the middle of nowhere. Decent ground for erecting tents and nice clean, tidy, modern facilities with a lovely cafe and shop (Thursday-Saturday). There really is nothing to complain about. A friendly welcome awaits.

Some Reviews from UK Campsites

Beautiful site. Stayed for a weekend, two nights, and loved it. Came with friends, dogs and child (3) and everyone loved it. Peaceful site, no overcrowding or filling, unisex bathroom/toilets were clean, tidy and perfect for requirements. Honesty box for bacon, eggs and marshmallows was a lovely touch. Use black bags for rubbish as the site have contractors (upset that some people didn't bother to obey this request for Tanya). Cookshop could have had a million spent in it! Cakes looked beautiful and will def be tasting next time!

The site was lovely, set in the countryside, all the pitches had a view of the dales. Toilet/shower block really clean and well stocked, unisex which was really great for our family, large showers. Loads of hot water. Good washing up facilities.  Close to a variety of places to eat in Harrogate.
Lovely places to go and visit including Ripley Castle and Brimham Rocks lots of leaflets on the site.
Owners really friendly and helpful.   We will be returning very soon!

Probably the nicest facilities I've ever come across at a campsite.

I stayed here for one night mid week. The campsite is gorgeous, surrounded by beautiful countryside and close to Harrogate town centre. There is a bus that runs from the road outside the campsite into town. The shower block was immaculate, even had a heated towel rail. Its all been very well thought out, and I will be back with my family for a visit.
